Midnight starts at exactly 12:00 AM; So the closest time to midnight in the options below is A. which is 11:55 a.m. Some might argue that it’s 12:03 a.m. but that’s wrong cos once it clocks 12 AM, it’s past midnight, & the question was ‘which is the closest to midnight’…”
While 11:55 a.m. is five minutes before 12 p.m. and over 12 hours away from midnight–something many people get mixed up–it’s technically still the closest time to midnight without going past it.
